I already packed 1 of 3 luggage (mostly of clothes and books) - I know I should lighten up on books but they're like my precious children - but I'm hoping I won't buy too many books in Korea, if I do I will try to donate some of my books in Korea.

Waiting for the visa
I had my interview with the Consul this Thursday (Jul 17th) and I'm waiting for my visa to be approved; they said it should take 2-3 working days. It seems that all I can do is wait wait wait...

Here we go
So things are getting a little more complicated. I was hoping that the F4 visa process would be simple, but having lost my citizenship card everything became difficult. So I'm opting for E2 visa, and I didn't realize that this too would be such a long process. With files being FedEx-ed from Canada to Korea, with express taking 5 days. Plus, after they receive the files in Korea, they've got to process my visa which may take between a week or two. Then, after that I will receive my visa issuance number. With that number I would have to apply for the visa in Korean consulate in Canada - this process itself will take between 3-5 days. So, having all this completed, I'll be lucky if I can even catch a plane before I will need to start working!

First post
This blog will be mainly for my travel blog, although that could change depending on circumstances.
I'm hoping to start something worth archiving for my stay in Korea for the next year. I've been hired by one of S.Korea's big hagwon, it's not in Seoul, it's slightly suburb, but I don't mind that at all. I can easily go anywhere in Seoul within an hour. At least I'd be spared the nasty traffic and smog! I'm excited to leave and start a new kind of life, although I will miss home terribly at times because I know myself well to admit that, Florence deja-vu. But second time around I'll know what to expect and do better! I'll be leaving sometime early July (hoping) so that I could get my F4 visa processed by July 21, which is when I will need to start working.
Wish me luck.
